Ava, how nice to hear from you! LMK how your motorcycle basics presentation works out.

I remember when you mentioned that you rode a motorcycle. Very cool. I'm not quite brave enough to ride a motorcycle in real life, but I love my convertible. It gives me the feel of the open road with a little more security. I never drive with the top down on major highways. Too many fumes and too much dust and dirt. I ride on back country roads and around my town in my car.

Thanks for visiting and posting.

Fun Sebring!

Personally, I love my motorcycle. It's really hard not to feel like a complete badass when you're riding one. My heroines and heroes both ride motorcycles, depending on the story.

Convertibles do it for me too, but it doesn't get much more open that on my Ninja.

@Adele (We've met before, Adele. I came to your writer's group last spring and gave the presentation on kick ass heroines.)

@Talya In my state (PA), the DOT offers free motorcycle safety courses. They supply the motorcycles, you bring the helmet. Trained instructors who've been riding for years take you from "this is how you turn it on" to doing figure eights in the lot. It's a nice safe way to learn, and you don't have to spend thousands on a cycle to just try it out. There might be something like that in your area.

Hmm. I've been thinking about developing a motorcycle basics presentation for my writer's group. Maybe I should ask them if they're interested.

Talya--The fantasy offered in books is perfectly safe. That's what makes writing about motorcycles and convertibles so much fun.

I do love to drive with the ragtop down. When the weather turns cooler, I wear a light jacket. Last winter we had a fluke 65 degree day in January. I got my jacket, put the top down on my car, and savored the rare winter warmth. It was one of the best days in my car, ever.

Thanks for your comment!

I love motorcycles, but they scare me to death :). When I was younger I knew a woman that was in a horrible crash at only 25mph, so my vision is skewed.
I think heroes with Harleys are hot and sexy and I want to eat them up. I think nothing says "hot bad boy" faster or better.

In real life, the adventurous part of me wants to own a bike as well. The sane, rational, scared part of me won't even consider getting on one. :)

Convertibles, lol, I am too rational for one. Living where we do, it is either too hot for one or too cold for one. And since I've been in a car that's rolled over, I want a hard top on my head.

Damn, either I'm getting old or too conservative. Maybe I'll have to talk hubby into renting that Harley next time we're down at the lake........

Male Submission is an area I cover in my workshop on BDSM for Romance Writers and the thing is it's a beautiful gift when the male can submit to a true Female Dominant.

I started out writing Female Dom erotica/erotic romance but it doesn't sell sadly. Not anywhere in comparison to Male Dom/femsub erotic romance. it's odd because for ever 1 female domme there are literally 10 or more male subs.

Best of luck to you!

I find a lot of my m/m tends to be third person. My f/f is almost all first person. Interesting.

I don't mind anything, except second person or present tense.

For erotic romance I prefer third person. The sex and emotions are too personal to have an "I" attached to them.

Anything else, it doesn't matter to me. I read them all. We have a local bookstore employee that refuses to read anything at all in first person. I kind of like it. In mysteries it is nice because we can SEE what they are thinking, where their brains are going, how they solve it.

Second person: lol, good for those little adventure books. "You come across a mummy. Do you A-Run screaming (turn to page x) B-Approach it carefully (page Y) C-Ignore it (page f) completely.

I feel the same way, Marcus. First person in other genres can really work, but some reason, I don't generally like it with erotica. Nor with thrillers or action/adventure for some reason. Perhaps because when I read those kinds of "popcorn" books I see it unfold like a movie in my mind, and third person lends itself very well to that.

Great points, Angie. And yeah, I didn't even bother bringing up second person! It can work on the odd occasion, but more for a short story. I can't imagine reading a whole novel in second person. But never say never, I suppose!
