I was visiting my mother a few weeks ago and I talked with a woman my mom had given one of my books to. She had liked it and wanted to know if a sequel was coming out, etc. We talked for a little bit and then I left. About fifteen minutes later I walked by her and she said to her friend. “Oooh, that’s Talya, M’s daughter, the author.”

Then on the plane coming home I saw a woman with an Ereader. It was a Nook. We talked about ebooks and their convenience, etc. We talked about sharing and I told her that I didn’t agree with sharing Ebooks because I was an ebook author. (I forgot the Nook lets you share one time and only for two weeks. I meant the copying and piracy) So we had an hour long discussion on what it was like to be an author, etc, etc.

I am talking about this because it was a strange week for me. It isn’t often that you meet people that consider Ebook authors to be “real” authors. These women treated me as they would any other author. It was kind of nice. And it spoke to me how people are growing to accept ebooks more and more. It was a nice feeling.

I’m thrilled over the growing popularity of e-readers and electronic books. All our hard work is finally being appreciated. Yay!

I have to agree with you, Adele. It is definitely nice to be appreciated. Now when people ask if they can find me on Amazon, I can always answer, yes, in the Kindle section.
